A Sea of Stars

312 stars. In the third installment in the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, Perenelle is trapped on Alcatraz Island with monsters of the very worst sort trying to kill her. She pulls out some wicked awesome spells and power. Machiavelli and Billy the Kid (best side characters ever)are sent to kill her since she is so resilient and hasn't died yet from the monsters. Meanwhile, Nicholas, Sophie and Josh are on their way to find Gilgamesh. They are joined by Palamedes and Shakespeare. Dee is tracking them the whole time. I like that, as in the first two, you get various view points and even the villain's sometimes. To get inside the character's head is important and the opportunity is often abused or ignored. It is great to see a seriesbook that accomplishes this and keeps it all together.
