3.5 stars. Reading this, I assumed it was a stand alone and I was very annoyed that things were not fully explained. It could have used some editing out the running around parts and maybe put in some actual useful information. But when I was informed that it was a series I was happier. Maybe my questions will be answered in future books.
Mrs. O'Dair is pure evil. Worse than Mrs. O'Brian. I liked Charlie and Tobias a lot. They were excellent characters. Charlie's mom seemed like maybe she needed some parenting lessons but, as we don't have the full story yet, I won't pass full judgement.
I did not see some of the twists coming. Well plotted, Ellen. Well plotted.
Now I just need the next book(s).
