A Sea of Stars

A retelling of Cinderella. It's originality was absolutely brilliant! Cinder is a cyborg that lives in New Beijing as a mechanic. When the prince shows up asking her to fix his broken droid, Cinder is semi inadvertently pulled into his life, the deadly plague that threatens the county, and the dangerous mysterious Lunars. The plague arrives in New Beijing, infecting people Cinder knew in the market and even her sweet younger half-sister but not Cinder. Cinder's past is questioned and she works to find a cure for the plague before it's too late.

Some plot points were predictable.

Beautiful writing.

It was very interesting and compelling. I couldn't put it down.

The first in the Lunar Chronicles. Scarlet(Little Red Riding Hood) is 2013. Cress(Rapunzel) is 2014. And the final book Winter(Snow White) is 2015.

Okay, calling this right now. Crescent Moon, Dr. Erland's daughter, is Cress.
